For Antipodeans IAG are a band that need no introduction. Comprising of multi-platinum selling artists Shelton Woolright (drums), Paul Matthews (bass), Max O'Donnell (guitar) and Ed Martin (vocals) this is a band that knows a thing or two about song writing and performing. Collectively they have supported the likes of Metallica, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Muse, Snow Patrol and Linkin Park to audiences up to 70, 000 strong – nuff said.
Kiwi drummer, Shelton Woolright comes from triple-platinum selling band "Blindspott" (EMI), the only band in New Zealand's history to have both their debut and follow up albums enter the charts at number 1. Whilst bassist Paul Matthews, another Kiwi, is from double platinum selling band Tadpole (EMI /Antenna) and more recently Stylus, as well as being one of the most in demand producers in New Zealand. Throw vocalist Ed Martin and axe-man MadMax O'Donnell into the mix and the result is an explosion of huge riffs, anthemic choruses and soaring vocal lines – think Muse meets A Perfect Circle.
Although still writing the early chapters of their history IAG have already made waves within the extreme sports community. Having been featured in countless Surf DVD's (including the new Quiksilver Kelly Slater documentary ‘Cloud 9' and a brand new offering from Brazilian based surfing company Mormaii) the boys have blazed a trail across the globe appearing at countless surf/skate festivals and events including Brixton's Skate and BMX Jam, Quiksilver's ‘Chromataphobia' and the Quiksilver Pro France on September 26th.
